Joshua Kaufman, Pika Energy CTOMonmouth Junction, NJ – Leaders in the development of smart, highly efficient microgrids convened today for the first Microgrid Incubator Summit. Joshua Kaufman, Pika Energy’s co-founder and CTO, presented on the company’s experience in commercializing nanogrid products, focusing on Pika’s REbus™ nanogrid technology, which features 380 volt direct current (DC) power flow, with embedded communication for smart power management.

The Summit took place at Steel Orca, the first data center of its kind in the world to run entirely on a 380V DC microgrid.  The discussion was moderated by Brian Patterson, Executive Director of the Emerge Alliance, and Dr. Rajendra Singh, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson University, both recognized leaders in DC power systems.  The event was designed to help DC microgrid equipment manufacturers and system integrators connect with business development and delivery partners.
